Question: best cyclocross “full suspension” bike for less than ,500?
I’m looking for a “full suspension” cyclocross bike that gives you that “tight, just right” shock absorption without actual efficiency draining shocks (not sure if cyclocross even has shocks per se)…for under $ 1,500. Will be riding on the street about 7 miles per day and off road about 7 miles a day as well: off road for me = mostly dirt, sand, gravel, some mud but little in the way of rocks and roots. Thanks.

I answered this for you privately already. What you want here does not exist. Cyclocross bikes do not have shocks either rear or front that I am aware of. That said this is a bike of that type: http://www.performancebike.com/bikes/Product_10052_10551_1073267_-1_45500_20000_45501 and most all of these will have the road bike geometry …not mtn bike geometry. I think an XC bike in your price range with a Fox RP2 shock would be best, it will have the option of a near lock-out in the rear with any other fork name with a lock out as well which make for a better ride on paved surfaces and with a flip of a lever you are ready for those off road excursions. The higher in price you go for full suspension bikes the more features you get. Your $ 1500 makes it a bit difficult to get everything you want.
